Awardee Details : Social Impact & Community Service Awards

My social impact work has been centred on children, especially special needs children, girls, and children from slum and low-income communities. What matters most to me is not just organizing activities, but being directly involved in work that changes daily life in a practical way.

I have worked with children in Saliasahi, Bhubaneswar, one of Asia’s largest slum areas, where I helped conduct free medical check-ups and distribute medicines. In places like this, even basic healthcare is often difficult to access. This work gave children and their families immediate support and showed me how important early care is for communities that are usually left behind.

I also supported children through Anganwadi centres by providing study materials. For many children, something as simple as notebooks or basic learning resources can make a real difference. I wanted to help children stay connected to learning and feel that their education matters.

A major part of my work has been with special needs children. I teach them privately and also provide physiotherapy support. This is the work closest to me because it is personal, patient, and continuous. It is not about one event or one campaign. It is about helping each child learn at their own pace, improve physically, and gain confidence step by step.

I am also the CEO of Udyam Clean Organization, where my work focuses on the sanitary needs of women and young girls, along with environmental responsibility. Through this, I have worked on menstrual hygiene awareness and sanitary support for girls. I distributed sanitary pads to female students at Navodaya Forum, Bhubaneswar during Menstrual Week. For many girls, menstrual health is still surrounded by silence and shame. I wanted to address that directly and make sure they had both support and dignity.

Nutrition has also been one of my focus areas. I personally led a campaign in villages around Bhubaneswar to promote Kanji as a simple and affordable way to fight malnourishment. This was especially important for children and families who could not afford expensive food options. The campaign was reported in the media, which helped the message reach more people.

My work has also included direct support during hardship. I helped provide meals for seven days to the occupants of SAKHA in Telengapetha, Cuttack. I also raised and contributed Rs. 4000 to the Kerala flood relief fund by selling kulfi to students of S.C.B.M.P.S School, Cuttack. These efforts came from the belief that service should respond to real needs, whether that need is food, health, education, or emergency support.

I have also taken part in care initiatives for the elderly, including distributing gifts under the campaign “We Care for Elders.” Alongside fieldwork, I have represented social causes publicly as a spokesperson at the Truecaller Callout event at Taj Vivanta, Bhubaneswar, and I was appointed Vice President of WHPRC and made its ambassador to the US.
