many years of unwavering dedication to the field of education, Dr. Sukhada Mhatre stands as a symbol of commitment, compassion, and progressive leadership. Her journey began as a lecturer, where for eight formative years she nurtured young minds with depth, clarity, and purpose. Her passion for teaching soon evolved into visionary leadership when she served as Principal of Rajiv Gandhi Night College for seven impactful years—empowering working students and giving second chances to those striving to balance education with life’s responsibilities.
For the past Five years, she has been leading Sandesh Vidyalaya and Junior College of Arts,Commerce & Science as Principal, fostering academic excellence while building a culture rooted in values, discipline, and holistic development.
Academically accomplished, Dr. Sukhada Mhatre-Chirate holds an M.A. in History and Political Science, an M.Ed., and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from University of Mumbai. Her academic depth is further strengthened by a DSM course and a Diploma in Counseling from Pune, equipping her with the tools to understand, mentor, and psychologically empower students—especially those from deprived and lower-income communities.
Her service extends beyond institutional leadership. She serves as Treasurer of Dnyan Prasarak Shikshan Sanstha, an educational institution supporting nearly 26,000 students in the current academic year. The Sanstha primarily works in the slum areas of Mumbai, transforming lives through accessible and value-based education.
In 2024, her leadership and dedication were further recognized when she was appointed as District Headquarters Commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Mumbai East Suburban region—where she nurtures leadership, discipline, patriotism, and social responsibility among the youth.
